Critical discussions in a warming world
Istanbul, 16–20 August 2027
Session submissions for the 2027 Degrees Global Forum on SRM are now open! Send us your ideas for 75-minute sessions before 30 October 2026 at 23:59 UTC.
The Forum aims to foster both academic and generalist discussions of SRM and its implications, using a range of session formats. The conference will feature plenary sessions and parallel sessions of 75 minutes. Find more information on the submissions page.
The last Forum, in Cape Town in 2025, was the largest SRM gathering ever. With the Global South firmly at the centre, it brought together researchers, NGO representatives, policymakers, thought leaders, and journalists from around the world to discuss the scientific, social, and political dimensions of SRM.
Join the largest meeting of SRM experts from the Global South and North
Connect with the SRM community, including researchers, policymakers and journalists
Explore the wider context of research with debates, discussions and parallel sessions
Get up to speed with the latest thinking on SRM's scientific and human dimensions
Discuss the latest results and network with top researchers in the field
Stay for the 17th annual GeoMIP meeting, held alongside the Forum once again
