Bridget Shayka is a Program Officer at Ocean Visions supporting the Marine Ecosystem Repair Program. Her current work is centered around exploring pathways to prolong the health of critical marine ecosystems and avert dangerous climate tipping points, focusing on the Arctic. Bridget’s previous work as a marine ecologist focused on the impacts of anthropogenic stressors on coastal ecosystems, such as seagrass and coral reefs. Her research also addressed seagrass ecosystems’ role in mitigating climate change’s effects. Bridget holds a PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Michigan, an MS in Biology from California State University Northridge, and a BS in Environmental Sciences from the University of Virginia.
